God is the Creator of marriage. It was instituted when God saw that man needed someone like himself that would journey life with him. Moreover, wives follow the godly husband as the Church follows Christ. Husbands are never given permission to overlord or be abusive. Rather it is his responsibility to love, guide and protect his wife. This is God’s will. Men live by and lead by the Word of God. They influence their home in a godly fashion. Always recognizing that Christ died for every person – male and female. Both men and women are equally precious in God’s eyes. Men are to love their wives as Christ loved the Church – that is doing the will of the Father in everything. Wives are to respect their husbands as ones whom God has commissioned to be responsible for the spiritual well being of the household. A joyful marriage is only possible when God’s will is evident.
